"words for today" are my list of words that are either worthy of being remembered, new - as in first time i ever heard it, needs to be defined, needs to be researched some more, or words with some interesting trivia involved.

disclaimer: words here will usually only be defined and explained when i have time, in which case it is only generally a list, so please feel free to help out. :)

i think my pullquote says it all (i just love my pullquote!!). i have been guilty of this - in that i assume that "taken cared of" is the correct past participle form - but i always check and eventually i put in "taken care" of anyway thinking that it sounds better.

• The phrase “take care of,” is an idiom that means “to attend to or assume responsibility.”
• “take” is a verb and “care” is a noun
• most verbs typically take the suffix “-ed” to form past participles, as in the past participle “finished” for the regular verb “finish.”
• The irregular verb “take,” however, takes the past participle “taken.” Thus, to form the past participle of the idiom “take care of,” it follows that only the verb “take” will inflect by changing to the past participle “taken.” The noun “care” will remain unchanged because in English, nouns don’t inflect with changes in tense; only verbs do. The correct form in the past participle of “take care of” is therefore not “taken cared of” but “taken care of.”

the typist wrote: "appeared to be fine as I think to be mouth to mouth practice if we did not worked on this"

what the doctor actually said: "it would amount to malpractice if we did not work on this"

i say: either way, the patient will sue. teeeheeee!! ^_^

this is an old blog with a new take.

as of the past few months, i've been playing around with a personal blog, a craft blog, and a private wordpress blog that only i can read - these are the active ones (my super super personal blog is only semi-active) and my not so active ones are now on hiatus (permanent?), but i realize i don't have a work blog. hmmmm...

so why not.

eventually, i just know i'm gonna merge these blogs together anyway, but for now, i like that i have several different ones that i can play around with.
